Guest blog: Wedding decorations

Determining your wedding decorations can be very time consuming. There is such a vast amount of choices, as well as alternatives for the traditional choices people typically decide between. Before you can even begin trying to figure out which decorations you will choose a budget needs to be set. Your budget will determine a lot about what your options are as well as your limitations.

Below is a basic checklist of the most popular decorations people get. However, you are not obligated to get each, nor are you limited to them. (I’d also suggest choosing a color scheme or theme before purchasing any decorations to help ensure they are cohesive.)

Wedding Decor

You don’t have to have a big budget or a fortune to decorate a wedding beautifully.
A spectacularly decorated venue requires just the right wedding decorations and inspiration to make it stand out.

Here are some ideas to inspire you:

Flower centerpieces

Using flowering potted plants instead of cut flowers can spare you a lot of money. Be creative and use vases with colored pebbles or crystals and lighting to create a nice centerpiece. However if you still prefer the look of cut flowers then you should definitely go for it. buffetdecor

Candles

Using candles along the aisle in oversizes vases or lanterns will creat a romantic and special mood and add that special touch of magic and embellishment you are looking for. Buying in bulk will get you a great deal. candlecenterpiece

Wedding vow renewal in Curacao

Today I am excited to figure as a guest blogger for Forever & A Day Décor thanks to Christelle Hillendahl!

The topic will be Wedding vow renewal ceremonies in Curacao. As a wedding and event planner I specialize in Destination weddings and I occasionally receive requests for a Wedding vow renewal ceremony.

When renewing your wedding vows basically you are exchanging your vows all over again using the same vows. You can also choose to personalize your ceremony by creating your own vows with a twist.

To perform a vow renewal ceremony in Curacao the couple can submit a copy of their wedding license along with their special requests to a wedding planner who will then take care of everything else like selecting the venue, the officiant and any other details to make this a memorable day for them.

The ceremony can be either intimate with just the two of you or you can incorporate your family and friends to take part in this special moment in your lives.

Such was the case for Stephen and Dara Russell from Georgia, Washington. To celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary they decided to take a cruise to the Caribbean and to renew their vows in an intimate setting on a beautiful beach here in Curacao on March 12 2013.

Upon arrival they were picked up by special transportation and whisked away to Daaibooi beach for their ceremony. It was just the two of them because Stephen wanted to do this for Dara since she travels a lot and he wanted to show her how much he loved and appreciated her for being his wife. 2

The ceremony was officiated by Reverend canon Humphrey C. Paulino. The couple requested the following special passages from the bible to illustrate their commitment and love for each other:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12:

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

1 Corinthians 13 4-8a:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Stephen and Dara finalized their celebration with a romantic and intimate dinner at “Bistro le Clochard” a renowned restaurant here on the island and highly recommended for its cuisine and spectacular views of the St. Anna bay.

For me it was truly a happy experience to be part of their day and to make their dream come true. They had nothing but praise for the way their special day was coordinated!
